Mike
Butkus has achieved the rank of Shodan through
his 7 years with Focus. Mr.
Butkus enjoys teaching his Northern Illinois
Special Recreation Association' Special Focus and Parent/Child
class because he enjoys "seeing the sense of accomplishment
a student feels when they achieve a particular goal".
Mr. Butkus'
karate career contains many achievements including 2nd place
in Kata and 3rd place in Kumite in the 1998 AAU National Karate
Championship.
Outside of Karate, Mr.
Butkus and his wife Kristi are raising three children
who all train with Focus Martial Arts. He has earned a BA in
Economics from the University of Illinois and a MBA from
Lake Forest Graduate School. In his spare time, Mr.
Butkus enjoys fishing, hunting and home repair.
